Jet2.com has today put on sale flights to the Costa Calida favourite, Murcia which take off every Monday and Friday from 24th May 2013, with fares starting from £41 per person. Flights to the Eastern Med’s charming Croatian resort, Pula are also now on sale with weekly flights starting from 18th June 2013 from £49 per person.

In addition, weekly flights to sun-kissed Menorca will start to operate from 25th May 2013 with fares from £41 per person. This gives Scottish holidaymakers a choice of 19 destinations available from Glasgow with Jet2.com.

More than half a million seats are now available for Summer 2013, a whopping 20 per cent increase on 2012, with increased frequency on flights to popular holiday hotspots including the Canaries, Majorca, Ibiza and Turkey.

A fourth dedicated Jet2.com aircraft will also be permanently based at the airport creating over 50 new jobs and giving travellers even more options and flexibility when it comes to their 2013 travel plans.

Steve Heapy, boss of Jet2holidays said “Glasgow is an important base for us, and as we enter our third year, we are delighted to announce more new destinations our customers want. Local holidaymakers have been requesting services to Menorca, Murcia and Pula and we are happy to be offering these amazing destinations for 2013. We recently announced Bodrum and Gran Canaria, which are also new for next year, meaning passengers have even more fantastic holiday options direct from Glasgow.

“Adding our fourth dedicated aircraft is also great news for the area. This will be based at Glasgow ahead of the peak holiday season in May and will allow us to offer these new destinations and even more flying. We’ve already added an additional weekly flight to Bodrum due to strong demand since it was launched just a few months ago. We are also increasing the number of seats available to Majorca, Alicante, Ibiza, Dalaman, Heraklion, Lanzarote and Tenerife.”

ATOL protected breaks are also available from Jet2holidays. The company’s low deposit of just £60 means savvy holidaymakers can plan ahead and secure their 2013 sun holiday without having to pay the full cost until 10 weeks before they travel.

Its decision to expand operations with the addition of a fourth aircraft, which will result in the creation of 50 new jobs, is fantastic news and it clearly demonstrates Jet2.com’s confidence in and commitment to Glasgow Airport.
