Community, Announcements

We recently treated a local scout, Alex Conlon, to an exclusive behind the scenes tour of our operations at Leeds Bradford Airport.

Alex (11) from the South Leeds and Morley District Scouts visited our hangar to see aircraft undergoing maintenance, spent time in our check in hall, baggage handling and operations centre plus had a tour of our three different types of aircraft based at Leeds Bradford.  He also got to look around the control tower to see how planes are safely guided back to the ground.

Alex’s visit ended with him being presented with his Stage 2 Air Aviation badge by one of Jet2.com’s captains.

It was a truly unique experience for Alex and he summed it up succinctly in three words: "IT WAS AMAZING!"

Adult volunteer, Harry Shires, who accompanied Alex on the tour said: "Enabling experiences like these is what makes me so proud to be a scout leader. From beginning to end this was an opportunity of a lifetime for Alex and I’d like to thank Jet2.com for making it such a memorable day.”

Paul Swinfen, General Manager – Operations at Jet2.com, added: “We’re thrilled Alex enjoyed his visit with us and it was fantastic to be able to present him with his Air Aviation Badge. He was very eager to learn all about the operations of an airline and I hope the visit inspired him to pursue a career in the airline industry!”
