The largest of the Channel Islands, Jersey is famous for the beauty of its rural settings and the rich variety of home-grown food. Enjoy scenic countryside walks and stop by cosy pubs with lots of character or laze the days away on one of the 24 soft-sand beaches. Despite its small size, you’ll also find lots more to see and do, whether it’s exploring medieval castles or marvelling at museums. When it comes to food, Jersey is in a league of its own. Think farm-fresh Jersey Royal potatoes, just-caught seafood and lots of creamy, dairy delights.

As it’s an island, Jersey has more than 45 miles of stunning, sandy shoreline. Plémont Bay is one of the most scenic stretches, where weathered rocks and high cliffs surround its golden sands. You’ll also be bowled over by the spacious seafront of St. Brelade’s Bay, which is incredibly popular during the summer.
Jersey boasts two iconic castles that will capture your imagination. The 16th-century Elizabeth Castle is particularly unique as it’s placed on a rocky islet surrounded by the English Channel on all sides – catch the Castle Ferry to visit it. There’s also the 13th-century Mont Orgueil Castle that stands at the edge of Gorey Harbour with great views of the French coast.
With its lush greenery, Jersey is a fantastic place to enjoy fresh local produce. Visit the Central Market in the island’s capital, St Helier, to take your pick from fruits, vegetables and flowers. There’s also the Island Farm and Craft Market at St Aubin, where you’ll find a delicious selection of artisanal food.
