9km north of Preveza lays Nicopolis – thought to be the largest ancient city in Greece! This remarkable site, which translates as ‘victory city’, was founded in 29 BC by the first Roman Emperor, Augustus – but it’s been abandoned since the 13th century. Today, there’s a museum that’ll transport you back in time.
With heavenly harbours, blissful beaches and gorgeous green backdrops, both Parga and Lefkas are examples of Greece at its very best. There’s plenty to do when the sun goes down as well, and Parga and Sivota are two of the top locations. But the vibe is more waterside dining than neon-lit clubs.
