Tignes is made up of a group of villages – Les Brevieres, Tignes 1800, Le Lac, Le Lavachet and Val Claret. Each village varies in what it has to offer, from Lavachet being the place for peace and quiet all the way to Val Claret which is the place for partying.
Tucked away on the southeastern border of France in the Tarentaise Valley, Tignes is a commune in the Savoie region. It’s around 220km from Geneva Airport, and just over 200km from Turin Airport.
Although not the liveliest of ski resorts, there are still plenty of options to choose from when it comes to keeping hunger at bay. Tignes has everything from fine French restaurants to snack bars where you can grab a quick bite to eat.
Tignes is sure to keep you busy if you fancy a break from the slopes. If you like to stay active, you’ll love the sports centre, bowling alley and skating rink, or if you prefer to relax, why not catch a film at the cinema?
With a total of four clubs and more than 50 bars – Tignes has a lot to offer in the way of après-ski. Some bars have live bands, while others have a more laid-back atmosphere. You’ll find two of the nightclubs in Val Claret – both staying open until the early hours.
