Gran Canaria is a place that few people only visit once. After experiencing this beautiful volcanic island and its capital, Las Palmas, many visitors find that they are looking for cheap flights to Gran Canaria again the minute they get home!

One of the main events that takes place on Gran Canaria is the carnival in February and, with cheap flights from Jet2.com, wearing a mask, partying in the streets all night and savouring a real fiesta is certainly an attractive proposition. Later in the year, the festival of Corpus Christi takes place in late May and early June and sees the streets covered with colourful sawdust, sand and pebbles.

There is an Aeroclub in Tarajalillo where high-flying visitors can take a flight over the island and enjoy the breathtaking scenery. The most popular attraction is the Roque Nublo, meaning Clouded Rock - an 80-metre high monolith formed from a volcanic eruption - and the Cenobio de Valeron, which boasts over 290 caves.
