We are delighted to announce a stunning new destination to our Summer 22 programme today - the historic Greek city of ATHENS.

From April 2022, we will operate flights and city breaks to the Greek capital – marking the first time that we have operated to the famous ancient city. Flights and city breaks to Athens are on sale with Jet2.com and Jet2CityBreaks from Birmingham (exclusive route), Manchester and London Stansted Airports, with two weekly services operating from each base until the end of October.

To give holidaymakers even more cheer on the back of adding new routes, destinations and thousands of extra flights in response to demand over recent weeks, we are also introducing two more routes to our Summer 22 network today – Manchester to Toulouse (flight-only) and Glasgow to Kos (flights and holidays).

This latest expansion means that we will operate to 60 sun and city destinations in Summer 22 – including 15 destinations in Greece. As well as that huge choice from across our network of ten UK bases, we will offer the largest number of Greek destinations from Birmingham, Glasgow, Manchester and London Stansted Airports.

Customers looking to travel to Athens in Summer 22 can choose a flight-only with Jet2.com, or a package option with Jet2CityBreaks available for a low £60 per person deposit. Package options with Jet2CityBreaks include flights with Jet2.com including 22kg free hold luggage and 10kg of free cabin baggage, transfers to and from the airport, as well as a choice of hotels in the best locations.

Greece’s capital, Athens, is the beating heart of Ancient Greece and holidaymakers can go history hunting, be stunned by world-renowned sights such as the Acropolis, or enjoy the fantastic nightlife. Jet2CityBreaks has a range of 3-5* hotels available in Athens City in neighbourhoods such as Koukaki, Monastiraki and Plaka. These locations provide easy access to the best sites, whether that be the flea market in Monastiraki, the nightlife in Psiri, the ‘Old Town’ of Plaka, the world-famous Acropolis or Syntagma Square.                                                                                                    

From 1st May until 16th October, we will also operate flights to Toulouse from Manchester Airport (currently an unserved route), giving customers from Manchester Airport access to the south west of France. Often called ‘The Pink City’, Toulouse has all the key ingredients for a great break, whether it’s to soak up the culture and visit famous sites including Basilique St-Sernin and the National Space Centre. Those interested in food and drink can sample the famous Toulouse sausage used in the dish of the region, Cassoulet, or enjoy a tipple at one of a number of internationally renowned vineyards. Toulouse is also a gateway to the majestic Pyrenees, Catalan Perpignan, historic Montpellier and the pilgrimage site at Lourdes.

Holidaymakers in Scotland have even more choice too, thanks to the launch of a sixth Greek destination from Glasgow Airport – Kos. We will operate weekly services to Kos from 4th May until 20th October, giving holidaymakers a choice of lively party towns, laid-back seaside resorts and traditional fishing villages – all of them jewelled with beautiful beaches, and dishing up heavenly traditional cuisine.

The good news does not stop there. We are also putting on more flights once again to a range of popular hotspots for Summer 22. In recent weeks, we have responded to demand by adding thousands of additional flights to a wide range of popular hotspots across destinations in Spain, the Canaries, the Balearics, Portugal, Turkey, Cyprus, Greece, Italy, Croatia and Malta. We are acting once again today, adding more flights to a number of destinations in Greece including Corfu, Crete (Heraklion and Chania), Kefalonia and Rhodes. 

With a busy programme lined up for Summer 22, including new routes to destinations such as Athens, Iceland, Tivat (Montenegro) and Vienna, holidaymakers are spoiled for choice when it comes to booking their Summer 22 holidays.
