New Routes, Announcements and Jet2holidays have announced that they are expanding their UK footprint even further – by launching award-winning flights and holidays from Bournemouth Airport - which will become their 12th UK base airport. 

The UK’s largest tour operator and third largest airline have today put 16 sunny destinations across Europe, the Canary Islands, and the Mediterranean on sale from Bournemouth Airport for Summer 25.  

As well as responding to years of demand for award-winning flights and holidays from customers and independent travel agents across the region, today’s announcement significantly expands and Jet2holidays’ footprint.  

This means that holidaymakers and independent travel agents across even more of the South of England, including Bournemouth, Southampton, Portsmouth and the wider region, can benefit from the companies’ leisure flights and ATOL protected package holidays. In addition they will have the opportunity to experience our industry-leading customer service that has earned the companies the prestigious accolade of Which? Travel Brand of the Year for the past two years running. 

In their first summer of operations from Bournemouth Airport, and Jet2holidays will operate up to 27 weekly flights, including multiple weekly flights to popular destinations across the Canary Islands, Balearic Islands, Turkey and Greece as well as services to hotspots such as Mainland Spain, Portugal and Madeira (full list of destinations below). Two destinations (Fuerteventura and Madeira) are exclusive to Jet2 from Bournemouth Airport.

This latest expansion comes just days before and Jet2holidays starts operations from Liverpool John Lennon Airport, a move which has resulted in tremendous feedback and is expected to be replicated at Bournemouth Airport, based on the years of demand for Jet2 to start operations there. 

From April 2025, customers travelling from Bournemouth Airport will be able to experience and enjoy the VIP customer service which has seen and Jet2holidays continually grow its business whilst repeatedly winning high-profile accolades. These include Which? Travel Brand of the Year, Which? Recommended Provider and Tripadvisor’s Best Airline – UK and Top 10 Airlines of the World.  

The Jet2 VIP customer service includes friendly flight times and a generous 22kg baggage allowance through a flight-only booking with Customers also get that very same VIP customer service along with 2-5 star accommodation, in-resort Customer Helpers, transfers, free child places and ATOL protection through a package holiday booked with the UK’s largest tour operator, Jet2holidays.  

Customers travelling from Bournemouth Airport can book their Jet2holiday direct via the website or by phoning the customer friendly Contact Centre, or alternatively through an independent travel agent. The tour operator’s award-winning trade team will be working in partnership with independent travel agents across the region to ensure they have all the knowledge they need to sell Jet2holidays package holidays and grow their businesses. The first 1,000 bookings will receive free fast-track service through security at the airport when they travel from Bournemouth Airport and Jet2holidays’ arrival at Bournemouth Airport represents significant investment for the region too. More than 100 new jobs will be created initially, with positions available across flight deck, cabin crew, engineering, and ground operations.
