Jet2 has underlined the critical role that partnerships will play in driving further success and growth across the Canary Islands, after bringing hundreds of partners together for a series of dedicated events across the islands.
The series of ‘Partnership for Growth’ events took place across Gran Canaria, Tenerife, Fuerteventura and Lanzarote last week, with representatives welcomed from Jet2’s new Canary Islands destination, La Palma, too.
Across the four events, over 300 attendees received business updates from senior Jet2 colleagues, heard more about current market conditions and discussed future opportunities to collaborate, including joint marketing, as the company continues to put partnerships at the heart of its strategy when it comes to supporting tourism growth across the Canary Islands.
The events were hosted by Adam Mulroy, Chief Commercial Officer at Jet2; David Neill, Chief Sustainability and Corporate Affairs Officer at Jet2; and Andrea MacConnell, Director of Contracting & Strategic Relationships at Jet2, with hotel partners, villa suppliers, local tourism organisations and representatives from the Canary Islands Government in attendance.
Jet2 is the UK’s leading airline and tour operator to the Canary Islands, directly employing 715 colleagues across the islands, and this series of events underlines the company’s continued commitment. In 2025, Jet2 customers represented over a third of all UK tourism to the Canaries, while the company makes an annual contribution of over €2.1 billion to the Canary Islands economy, underlining the scale of its role in supporting the destination.
Jet2 carried over 2.5 million customers to the Canary Islands in 2026, with 58 routes and up to 278 peak weekly flights operating to the islands. This programme spans five islands – Gran Canaria, Tenerife, Fuerteventura and Lanzarote, as well as La Palma which launched earlier this year, providing the latest demonstration of Jet2’s continued investment in and commitment to the Canary Islands.
The scale of Jet2’s commitment is also reflected across the company’s wider programme across the Canary Islands, with 58 resorts, almost 550 hotels and more than 400 villas on sale.
Adam Mulroy, Chief Commercial Officer at Jet2 said: “These events underline our long-term commitment to the Canary Islands and our determination to build on our position as the UK’s leading airline and tour operator to the islands. This is only possible by working in partnership and we are very proud of the relationships that we have built, which have been strengthened even further this week. Our collaborative approach to working together means that our door is always open to partners and we look forward to building on the many positive discussions that we have had this week, as we continue investing in and supporting the successful future of tourism across the islands.”
