Cervinia ski resort
Sitting in the shadow of the iconic Matterhorn and boasting snow-sure slopes, Cervinia’s a skier's dream. It’s easy to reach too, thanks to direct flights to Turin Airport with Jet2.com. Just an hour and a half’s transfer later and voilà – you’re in winter wonderland. Although the resort itself is largely purpose-built, the setting is arguably one of the most magical in the Alps. The town centre’s main street is cobbled and car-free, lined with cafés, bars and restaurants. Fancy a spot of shopping? There’s a handful of boutiques to choose from. There are lots of options when it comes to accommodation too, from large hotels to small, family-run chalets. Plus, you’ll find prices are often much cheaper here than in France or Austria!
The location
In Cervinia, you can experience the majesty of the Matterhorn, without splashing out on Swiss prices. The lifts here top out at 3,883m, so the snow tends to stick around for longer. The town itself is south facing, which means many of the bars and restaurants are blessed with sunshine come après o’clock. Buy an area pass and the neighbouring resort of Zermatt will be yours to explore too. Cervinia is easy to reach from Turin Airport, so you can be swishing down the slopes in no time.

Snow-sure slopes
At the foot of the iconic Matterhorn, Cervinia delivers some of the most snow-sure slopes in the Alps. With wide, gentle pistes ideal for beginners and intermediates, plus access to the steeper terrain of Zermatt across the Swiss border, it’s fab for all levels. You can cover huge distances across two countries – and enjoy spectacular scenery along the way.
The perfect base
The resort itself has a relaxed, friendly vibe with everything you need on your doorstep. Browse local shops, pick up mountain essentials or settle into a cosy café for a post-ski treat. Restaurants range from hearty pizzerias to fine-dining spots with Matterhorn views. And the quiet, car-free centre is ideal for evening strolls.
Unwind the Italian way
Cervinia may be small in size, but it more than makes up for it in après activities. When you’re not wining and dining, there’s ice skating, dog-sledding, snowmobiling and more to get stuck into! Looking for more laidback than lively? Unclip and unwind at one of the hotel spas.
