Sports Equipment and Special Baggage Restrictions and Instructions

Musical Instruments See Restrictions & Packing Instructions See Restrictions & Packing Instructions If your musical instrument is within the permitted hand baggage dimensions of 56cm x 45cm x 25cm and weighs less than 10kg, it may be carried onto the aircraft with you free of charge as your one piece of hand luggage

Larger items such as a Guitar or Cello carried in the cabin on a dedicated seat, but this extra seat must be paid for. For safety reasons, the item must weigh 65kg or less to be carried in the cabin, if an extra seat (non-emergency exit) is booked. Additionally, the item must not extend above the seat by more than 30cm, and must be securely restrained

If above conditions cannot be met, or you require your instrument to be carried in the aircraft hold, this can be pre-booked for a fee. Please refer to the Summary of Baggage Allowance and Fees table

Surfboards Hold Baggage 32kg Maximum length of 300cm for any surfboard

Fins should always be removed, or, if they cannot be removed, should be firmly packed with polystyrene foam

Both the surfboard nose and tail should have bubble‑wrap or neoprene foam attached for protection

The rails (sides of the board) should have cardboard down the sides to absorb any shock

The board should be packed in a properly padded surf‑bag

Wedding Attire Hold Baggage / Cabin Baggage Standard Allowance Wedding attire packed in accordance with the permitted cabin baggage allowance may be carried in the cabin as part of your cabin baggage allowance

Alternatively, wedding attire may be checked into the aircraft hold as part of your hold baggage allowance. You must ensure it is carefully packed to protect from damage and ensure you have adequate travel insurance in place
Comfort Devices Hold Baggage Standard Allowance Comfort devices such as; seat extenders, baby hammocks, flexible seat supports, knee defenders and head rest attachments are not permitted on board

We ask that inflatable comfort devices such as Mattresses, air beds and foot stools are also not brought on board
