Travelling with children

Children travelling abroad generally need their own valid passport, and some destinations may have additional entry or visa requirements. Families should check the latest requirements for their destination before departure, as rules can differ depending on nationality, destination and the child's circumstances.

Yes, babies travelling internationally need their own passport. A baby cannot normally travel using a parent's passport. Parents should apply for the child's passport well before their holiday and check that it remains valid for the entire trip and meets the destination's entry requirements. If you’re taking a pushchair, it doesn’t have to be checked in with your suitcases. You can take it right up to the plane door, just before boarding, where it will then have to folded down and stored in the hold by one of our friendly team. You’ll then be able to collect it from the carousel when you reach your destination, or sometimes from the plane door in your arrival destination.

On top of the standard 22kg baggage and 10kg hand luggage included for every passenger aged three and over, you’ll have an extra 10kg luggage allowance for baby and toddler equipment. You can take pushchairs from check-in to security and right up to the plane, then speak to our Red Team about bringing them to the doors when you land.

Families travelling with children should consider selecting seats if sitting together is important. Parents travelling with babies can take essential baby food and milk, although airport security requirements still apply. Families should check the latest airport security guidance before travelling and allow additional time as items may require inspection. Keeping baby supplies together and easily accessible can make the security process more straightforward.

As a family-friendly airline, we’ll always seat children and infants under the age of 12 next to their accompanying adults. We encourage you to book seats in advance to make sure you get to sit exactly where you want. We kindly ask that customers refrain from using their own infant seatbelts onboard. Only seatbelts issued by Jet2.com are permitted for safety reasons.

Infant and children’s car or booster seats are not provided for any transfers (including private transfers) and (if required) must be taken as part of your baggage (at your own cost).
