There’s an air of nostalgia to Jersey’s seaside spots. Pack a picnic and spend a day at one of its many unspoilt beaches. Alternatively, meander along the south coast’s cliff paths, admiring the views of the surrounding turquoise waters. While further north in Fern Valley, wild flower-speckled meadows and dense woodland await.
Jersey was under Nazi occupation during World War II and traces of this dark period can be seen at the Jersey War Tunnels. For a different chapter in the island’s history books, visit 16th century Elizabeth Castle. Equally interesting is the Jersey Museum and Art Gallery, if you can squeeze in another attraction.
Island life revolves around fresh catches and there are plenty of places to try them. Scallops, crab, lobster, oysters – there’s a delectable line-up to eat your way through. Polish off meal time with ice cream made from Jersey cow milk. Rich and creamy, there’s no better culinary swan song.
