The Spanish coastline is one of the most popular places in Europe, especially during the summer months when thousands of tourists visit the sun-drenched resorts for their annual holiday. Most people have heard of the Costa del Sol and the Costa Brava, however there are many more Costas that are perfect for families – so let’s take a look.

Costa de la Luz: The ‘Coast of Light’ is probably one of the least known areas. Untarnished by mass tourism, it offers a peaceful haven on the corner of south west Spain.

Costa Tropical: Further east than the popular Costa del Sol, the Costa Tropical has yet to succumb to the high rise developments of its noisy neighbour.

Costa Dorada: This is the ‘Gold Coast’, a massive 200km off to Barcelona’s south west. The beaches are filled with welcoming golden sands which skirt the coastline.

Costa Brava: Rough and rugged, beautiful and wild, the Costa Brava runs between the border with France and the fabulous city of Barcelona. Here you will find secluded rocky coves and relaxing sandy beaches framed by tree covered cliffs.

Costa del Sol: The most well-known area of the Spanish coast, the Costa del Sol is blessed with year-round sun and wonderful beaches, making it one of the top holiday destinations in the Mediterranean.

Costa Calida: A 250km expanse of coastline in the south east of Spain, home to world renowned holiday complexes and some of the best sports and leisure facilities on any of the Costas.

Costa Almeira: Not the most well-known area but with 200km of beaches interspersed with pretty seaside villages, it won’t be long before the tourist industry comes knocking.

Costa Blanca: The ‘White Coast’ is filled with holiday resorts catering for everyone. This is the Costa most geared up to providing the ultimate package holiday experience.
