The world renowned Berlin Jazz festival is back and this year it takes place from the 31st October to 3rd November. This real highlight on the global jazz calendar has been celebrated for over 40 years and is based at the Berliner Festspiele.

The Berliner Festspiele offers a fantastic cultural space in the modern metropolis of Berlin and provides a venue for a range of different artistic productions visitors can enjoy throughout the year.

All that Jazz

According to organisers, the aim of this year’s Berlin Jazz Festival is “to establish ties between cultures, styles, worlds of expression and emotion”.

As well as highlights from acts such as the Gnawa Jazz Voodoo project and British newcomer to the scene, Shabaka Hutchings and his band Son of Kemet, a big feature will also be a focus on improvised jazz and ‘the sound of surprise’.

The festival has something to suit all the family and even includes a special show for the children.

For a full programme of events, visit the Berlin Jazz Festival pages of the Berliner Festspiele website.
