Vienna is a wonderful city to welcome in the New Year. The Austrian capital is famed for its several Christmas markets, yet Vienna has just as many magical ways to celebrate the arrival of 2015.

The Innere Stadt

The Ringstrasse

The Ringstrasse is the famous road that encircles the Innere Stadt, lined with grand attractions. It will be celebrating its 150^th year in 2015. To mark this milestone, the Ringstrasse will become part of the New Year’s Eve Trail.

It will even host the Wiener Silvesterlauf – a New Year’s Eve Run of just over 5km!

Fine fireworks

After the final seconds of 2014 have been counted down, Vienna continues the worldwide tradition of filling the night sky with fireworks. Watch in wonder as a glittering array of colours shower the stunning City Hall Square.

A world-famous performance

The Vienna Philharmonic will be welcoming the New Year in the most beautiful way imaginable, by playing a selection of classical pieces by the Johann Strauss family. Watch the concert on a big screen in front of the City Hall and soak up the celebratory atmosphere.
