Jet2 marks one year of operations at London Luton Airport

Jet2 marked its first anniversary of operating award-winning flights and holidays from London Luton Airport today (Wednesday 1st April), by putting colleagues and customers at the heart of the key milestone.
To mark exactly one year since the start of operations at the airport base, the award-winning airline and tour operator hosted a range of celebrations which included surprising one lucky customer with a pair of return flights while they checked in for their flight this morning.
The birthday surprises go hand-in-hand with Jet2’s customer-first approach which has seen the company delight hundreds of thousands of customers since launching from London Luton Airport, enabling it to enjoy a first year of growth and success.
Thanks to Jet2’s VIP customer service, including a dedicated Red Team who are always visible and present to help customers as they travel to and from their well-deserved holidays, Jet2 is gearing up for an expanded second summer of operations from London Luton Airport, as more new and existing holidaymakers choose the award-winning airline and tour operator.
Jet2 will operate to 22 destinations this Summer 2026 with an expanded programme which includes five brand-new destinations (Corfu, Skiathos, Kos, Preveza and Menorca) taking customers on their well-deserved holidays. To meet with continued demand, Jet2 will increase capacity at London Luton Airport by 43% this summer compared to last summer, with over 620,000 seats on sale, offering customers and independent travel agents even more choice and flexibility.
To support Jet2’s Summer 2026 programme, a brand-new Airbus A321neo aircraft will fly holidaymakers from London Luton Airport on their summer package holidays with Jet2holidays and leisure flights with Jet2.com.
For customers looking further ahead, Jet2 also has flights and holidays on sale for Winter 2026/2027 and Summer 2027, so whatever season holidaymakers want to book a getaway for the UK’s favourite airline and tour operator has something for everyone.
Customers travelling from London Luton Airport can take advantage of Jet2’s Red Team of Customer Helpers, who will be delivering the company’s VIP customer service which has seen it continually win accolades for.
