Announcements

Jet2.com and Jet2holidays have added more flights and holidays to Crete this summer, as holidaymakers continue to flock to the popular Greek island.

The UK’s largest carrier to Crete has added over 7,500 seats to the island thanks to additional services to Heraklion from Leeds Bradford and Birmingham, as well as additional services to Chania from Manchester and London Stansted.

The new services will operate during the peak summer holiday season, providing holidaymakers and independent travel agents with even more choice and flexibility, meaning they can choose the duration of holiday they wish. The additional services are as follows:

  • Leeds Bradford – Heraklion: addition of a second Monday service between 25th July and 26th September means up to six weekly departures.
  • Birmingham – Heraklion: addition of a second Tuesday service between 26th July and 27th September means up to seven weekly departures.
  • Manchester - Chania: additional Thursday services operating between 14th July and 1st September means up to three weekly services.
  • London Stansted – Chania: additional Monday services operating between 18th July and 19th September means up to three weekly services.

This expanded programme means that Jet2.com and Jet2holidays will operate over 50 weekly services to Crete from across ten UK bases during peak periods, more than any other airline. It also makes Jet2.com the UK’s largest airline to Heraklion in terms of frequency this summer.

As well as operating 14 routes from ten UK bases to Crete this summer, Jet2.com and Jet2holidays have an expanded portfolio of 2-5 star hotels and villas on sale. The UK’s leading tour operator to Greece has almost 200 hotels on sale in Crete this Summer, a significant increase on its Summer 19 programme.

In line with their commitment to delivering award-winning customer service, the companies also have a team of approximately 50 colleagues working in airports and resorts this summer, meaning a bigger ‘Red Team’ presence in Crete.

Steve Heapy, CEO of Jet2.com and Jet2holidays said: “Our Greece programme has expanded significantly for Summer 22, making us the UK’s leading airline and tour operator to the country. Crete is one of the key destinations driving this fantastic growth, thanks to its enormous popularity with holidaymakers. We have an unrivalled programme on sale to Crete this summer and our teams in Heraklion and Chania are ready and raring. After missing out for two consecutive summers, Crete looks set to be one of the success stories of 2022 and we are adding more flights and holidays in response to the continued demand.”
