Jet2.com and Jet2holidays have waved off their first flight to Santorini from Edinburgh Airport this afternoon (26th May), celebrating the launch of the brand-new route for Summer 22 from the base.

The busy flight marks the start of the leading leisure airline and UK’s leading tour operator to many destinations across the Mediterranean, including Greece, operating weekly Thursday services to the stunning Greek island from Edinburgh Airport this summer from 26th May to 27th October.

In yet more good news, the companies’ inaugural flight to Skiathos from Edinburgh Airport will depart tomorrow (Friday 27th May), followed by their first flights to Izmir on Saturday (28th May) and Preveza on Sunday (29th May). The start of services to these popular Greek and Turkish destinations from the base comes in response to strong demand from local customers and independent travel agents for Summer 22 flights and holidays.

The addition of Santorini, Skiathos, Izmir and Preveza to Jet2.com and Jet2holidays’ Summer 22 programme from Edinburgh Airport means the companies are operating to nine Greek destinations from the base this summer – Corfu, Crete (Heraklion), Kos, Preveza, Rhodes, Santorini, Skiathos, Halkidiki and Zante and four Turkish destinations - Antalya, Bodrum, Dalaman and Izmir.

In addition to Santorini, the full breakdown of the Summer 22 programme to Skiathos, Izmir and Preveza from Edinburgh Airport is as follows:

• Skiathos – weekly Friday services operating from 27th May to 30th September.
• Preveza – weekly Sunday services operating from 29th May to 23rd October.
• Izmir – weekly Saturday services operating from 28th May to 22nd October.
