Level 3 Marketing Assistant Apprentice at Jet2.com and Jet2holidays, Kayleigh Holt, has been named ‘Apprentice of the Month’ by her training provider, VQ Solutions Ltd.

Kayleigh, who has recently been recognised by Jet2 with a promotion to the role of Customer Experience Executive, was chosen from all VQ Solutions apprentices nationally, thanks to her exceptional contributions to both her work tasks and studies.

This included excellent work on distributing branding collateral to Jet2.com and Jet2holidays’ 11 UK bases as well as all their overseas destinations and organising branding for events and of guidelines for bespoke branding in hotels in-resort.

Kayleigh said: “It is brilliant to receive recognition from my assessor, especially as VQ Solutions Ltd is a national training company. I have had so many development opportunities since joining Jet2 on the apprenticeship scheme, and I feel like I now have picked up a wealth of business knowledge that I can apply into my actual career. If I hadn’t have done an apprenticeship, I wouldn’t have gained all the experience I have now, and it’s been a lot of fun to be honest. Not many people can say they’ve slid down the aircraft slide at the training centre!”

“The people here are really lovely and it’s such a nice environment. This is my first ever role working in an office, so coming into this setting has been made easier by the people that work here and the type of work we do. It helps that Jet2 is such a successful business as new opportunities are coming through every day. It’s very rare that any two weeks are the same as there’s always something new that we’re working on.”

Kayleigh, who also has a Psychology degree, is not the only successful apprentice to work for Jet2.com and Jet2holidays, as all previous apprentices have passed their end point assessment first time and have progressed into permanent roles with the company.

Over 40 apprentices from across the organisation will be attending Jet2’s second Apprentice Graduation Ceremony later in the year to celebrate their achievements with Senior Directors, Management and their families.

Jet2.com and Jet2holidays currently has 119 apprentices on-programme in over 30 different apprenticeship standards across the business in Finance, Engineering, HR, IT, Marketing, Operations Control, Health & Safety, Ground Operations, Contact Centre and Procurement, ranging from Level 3-7.

As well as a course delivered by a nationally recognised training provider, all Jet2 apprentices receive additional internal business development to aid their overall understanding of the business and its operations.

A diverse range of opportunities are available for new people entering the industry age 16+ as well as for existing colleagues to support their career development, with a large cohort intake planned for September 2023.
