Bid for a Break winner heads to Rome with Jet2CityBreaks for just 8p!

Ken Smith from Mirfield, West Yorkshire, was one of seven lucky holidaymakers who successfully ‘Bid for a Break’ with Jet2holidays during the campaign’s week-long return, securing a three-night getaway to Rome for just 8p.
After placing his bid of just 8p, Mr Smith was told that he had entered the lowest unique bid in the online auction. This meant he had purchased a three-night getaway with Jet2CityBreaks for two adults to the Room Mate Collection Gran Filippo in Rome for that very same price.
With just one getaway up for grabs previously, the bidding returned with a bang this month, seeing a new holiday auctioned off every day for a week. The week-long campaign also saw lucky winners claim getaways to the likes of Ibiza for just 95p and Cyprus for the small price of 52p!
Following the relaunch of the UK’s largest tour operator’s popular campaign in May, holidaymakers have the chance to pay as little as just a few pence for a new getaway every other month until March 2026, with three more holidays up for grabs in November, January and March.
Over the last four years, Jet2holidays’ ‘Bid for a Break’ campaign has proved extremely popular with customers. With winners jetting away for as little as 2p, millions of holidaymakers have been placing their bids in hopes of securing a getaway. After being inundated with requests for the bidding to return, everyone’s favourite campaign made its return in May.
Holidaymakers hoping to do just like Mr Smith and successfully ‘Bid for a Break’ have three more opportunities to enter, with a new holiday available to bid on every other month. Bidding for the next holiday opens at 10am on Monday 10th November, allowing customers to submit their bids until 10am on Monday 17th November.
To get bidding for their next getaway when the campaign returns in November, all holidaymakers need to do is download the Jet2 mobile app and enter their bid to the nearest pence. If they are the only entrant to bid that exact amount and their bid is the lowest, they will purchase the holiday for that same price.
Mr Smith said: “I have been entering ‘Bid for a Break’ for quite a while; it’s a brilliant competition. I’m so pleased my persistence paid off and to be jetting off to Rome with my lovely wife, Jayne. The reason I chose the winning amount of 8p is because it’s my wife’s birthday which has turned out to be a lucky number!”
