Jet2.com and Jet2holidays are celebrating a significant milestone in their continued success story at Birmingham Airport, as the companies welcomed their 15 millionth customer to travel with them from the airport base.
The first Jet2.com and Jet2holidays flight departed from Birmingham Airport to Malaga back in March 2017 and in that first summer of operations the companies operated to 23 destinations with four based-aircraft. The continued growth and success at the airport means that Jet2.com and Jet2holidays have expanded their flying programme from 23 routes to 71 sun, city and ski destinations on sale, with 15 million customers now having taken advantage of the wide choice and flexibility on offer.
The size and scale of the programme from Birmingham Airport makes Jet2.com the second largest carrier from the airport, based on 2025 capacity. The company now operates 16 based aircraft at the airport.
Jet2.com and Jet2holidays are continuing to show their commitment to the region by adding a range of new destinations for Winter 25/26, Summer 26 and Summer 27 from Birmingham Airport, providing even more options to local customers and independent travel agents when it comes to enjoying a holiday.
For Winter 25/26, the companies have introduced a brand-new mini-series of flights and city breaks to Tallinn, ideal for customers looking to explore the magical Christmas markets of the Estonian capital for the very first time. Looking ahead to Summer 26, operations will commence to the sunny hotspots of Palermo and Samos, followed by a brand-new route to Bergerac launching from May 2027.
The launch of award-winning flights and holidays from Birmingham Airport in 2017 created 200 brand-new roles, with the companies continuing to invest in the region to now employ almost 1,200 colleagues at the airport base.
In addition to booking and travelling on flights and package holidays with the leading leisure airline and UK’s largest tour operator from Birmingham Airport, holidaymakers can enjoy the same high levels of customer service which has resulted in Jet2.com and Jet2holidays being recognised as Which? Recommended Providers for ten and seven years respectively.
Steve Heapy CEO of Jet2.com and Jet2holidays, said: “We are delighted to have flown so many happy holidaymakers on our award-winning flights and holidays from Birmingham Airport and to be celebrating our 15 millionth customer to travel with us from the airport. It is fantastic to have reached this important milestone in our company’s continued success story.

Al Titterington, Terminal Operations Director at Birmingham Airport said: “We’re delighted to celebrate 15 million Jet2 passengers through Birmingham Airport. Since its arrival at Birmingham in 2017, Jet2.com and Jet2holidays have significantly grown their presence at Birmingham Airport and are now one of our largest airline carriers. This special milestone is illustrative of the successful partnership we have with Jet2.com and we look forward to welcoming even more of their customers in the years to come.”
